According to the report of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM), based on the cumulative production from January to December 2022, Peru's copper production increased by 4.8%, iron ore production increased by 6.5%, and tin production increased by 4.6% in 2022. The report details that copper production in 2022 reached 2.4386 million mt, which means an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period in 2021 (2.326 million mt). This is due to the good performance of Compa ñ í a Minera Antamina as a major producer, which accounts for 19.2% of the total copper production in Peru, followed by Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde and Southern Peru Copper Corporation, which account for 18.8% and 14.0% respectively.
