According to the latest data from Clarksons, as of February 9, 88 new orders were signed globally in January this year, totalling 2.14 million CGT, an increase of 6 ships compared with December last year, and a 15.37% decrease in corrected gross meter tonne. Compared with the same period last year, the number decreased 180, and the revised gross meter tonne decreased 60.75%. In terms of countries, Chinese shipyards received 49 ships, totalling 1.25 million CGT; Japan received 1 ship, totalling 29,101 CGT; South Korea received 12 ships, totalling 639,518 CGT. Corrected gross meter tonne accounted for 58.70%, 1.36% and 29.91% of global new ship orders respectively.
