China's Foreign Exchange Reserves Climb for a Fourth Month

China's foreign exchange reserves were $3,184.5 billion as of the end of January, an increase of $56.8 billion, or 1.82%, from the end of the previous year.

After entering 2023, China's foreign exchange reserves have maintained the growth momentum since the fourth quarter of last year.

According to the data released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on February 7, China's foreign exchange reserves were $3,184.5 billion as of the end of January, an increase of $56.8 billion, or 1.82%, from the end of the previous year.

The official reserve balance sheet also shows that China's central bank had 65.12 million ounces of gold reserves by the end of January, up 480,000 ounces from the previous month. It shows that gold reserves have increased for three consecutive months since last November.
