The Output Growth of Power Batteries Remained High in June and Would Reach 45 Gwh in July

SHANGHAI, Aug 11 (SMM) - Power battery output totalled 41.3 GWh in June, up 171% on the year and 16% on the month.

SHANGHAI, Aug 11 (SMM) - Power battery output totalled 41.3 GWh in June, up 171% on the year and 16% on the month. In June, with the improvement of the pandemic situation in SMM, automobile and battery enterprises resumed their production, pushing up the battery cell output. Output of ternary batteries in June was 18.3 Gwh, up 12% month-on-month and 149% year-on-year. Output of LFP batteries stood at 22.9 Gwh, up 19% MoM and 195% YoY. On the whole, the output of ternary batteries again hit a historical high, while that of LFP grew relatively stably, and the output of batteries is expected to rise in the future.

The total installed capacity in June was 27 GWh, up 46% month-on-month and 147% year-on-year. In June, production and sales of terminal markets returned to normal, pushing up the installed capacity of power batteries. SMM data showed that the installed capacity of ternary batteries reached 11.6 Gwh, an increase of 39% MoM and 95% YoY, and that of LFP batteries was 15.4 Gwh, up 51% MoM and 201% YoY.
