For the whole year, aluminum foil exports totaled US $5.142 billion, up 34.2% from a year earlier and a record high, up from a previous peak of US $4.304 billion in 2018. Aluminum foil exports accounted for 14.8% of China's aluminum exports in 2021.

This achievement is due to the decline in China's economic growth, sluggish market effective demand, frequent epidemics and natural disasters, a sharp rise in raw materials such as aluminum ingots, double control of energy consumption, frequent power cuts, mismatch in the supply chain, and a sharp rise in shipping prices. it is even more difficult to achieve under the background of unprecedented difficulties, such as the poor transportation of foreign trade exports and the increase in the number of anti-dumping cases. Behind this is the perseverance and hard work of aluminum foil enterprises in a complex environment, which shows the continuous improvement of China's aluminum foil processing and manufacturing capacity, the enhancement of supply capacity, and the comprehensive competitive advantage and development toughness of the aluminum foil and aluminum processing industry. it has become an important force to maintain the stability of the global aluminum foil supply chain.

In addition, China imported 107.416 million tons of bauxite from January to December 2021, down 3.7 per cent from the same period last year.

From January to December 2021, China imported 3.327 million tons of alumina, down 12.6 percent from the same period last year, and exported 120000 tons of alumina, down 22.4 percent from the same period last year.

From January to December 2021, China imported 1.58 million tons of electrolytic aluminum, an increase of 48.5 percent over the same period last year, and exported 7100 tons of electrolytic aluminum, a decrease of 27.1 percent over the same period last year.

From January to December 2021, China imported 1.155 million tons of aluminum alloy, down 6.5 percent from the same period last year, and exported 151000 tons of aluminum alloy, down 29.7 percent from the same period last year.

From January to December 2021, China exported 5.434 million tons of aluminum, an increase of 17.7 percent over the same period last year, and imported 478000 tons of aluminum, an increase of 17.9 percent over the same period last year.
