The latest data released by the Philippine Bureau of Mines and Geological Sciences show that in the first half of 2021, the Philippines produced a total of 151,646 mt of nickel, up 39% on the year, valued 21.42 billion pesos.
The Philippines is China's largest supplier of nickel ore.
Data show that copper output in the Philippines fell by 24% in the first half of the year to 23,557 mt, while gold output increased by 3% to 8,545 kg.
The Philippine Bureau of Mines and Geological Sciences stated in a statement that the value of the country’s total metal output increased by 24.5% to 68.6 billion pesos.
