On July 5, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the Circular on matters related to the Investment and Construction of New Energy delivery projects (hereinafter referred to as "the notice").

The Circular points out that Electroweb enterprises give priority to undertaking new energy supporting delivery projects to meet the needs of new energy grid connection; new energy supporting delivery projects that have difficulties in the construction of Electroweb enterprises or that do not match the planning and construction schedule are allowed to be invested by power generation enterprises; and new energy supporting projects built by power generation enterprises can be bought back by Electroweb enterprises in accordance with the law at an appropriate time.

The market believes that the above new policies solve the pain points in the construction of new energy distribution projects, help to promote the faster development of new energy, and promote the construction of large-scale independent shared energy storage power stations on the Electroweb side.

Guotai Junan Pang Junwen said that the use of energy storage power stations will effectively solve the problems of renewable energy abandoning wind and light, as well as the impact of grid connection on Electroweb. It is estimated that by 2025, the new energy storage capacity will reach more than 30GW, with an average annual growth rate of 50 to 70 per cent.

Some data show that by the end of 2020, the cumulative installed capacity of energy storage in China is 35.6GW. Except for pumped storage, the installed scale of other technologies is 3.81GW, among which the cumulative installed scale of lithium battery is 2.9GW.

In the overall application of electrochemical energy storage, due to the fastest decline in the cost of lithium battery, lithium battery accounts for a higher and higher proportion of electrochemical energy storage. By 2020, 99% of the new electrochemical energy storage in the world is lithium battery energy storage.

From this, we can see that if the scale of the new energy storage machine will reach more than 30GW by 2025, then with the 2.9GW in 2020 as the starting point, the space for growth will be more than 10 times in five years!

Forecasts from CNESA/ Guosheng Securities Research Institute are more optimistic. According to the agency, it is conservatively estimated that the installed capacity of electrochemical energy storage in China will reach 35.53GW in 2025, and in an ideal case, it is expected to reach 55.88GW!

In other words, ideally, this would be a market with more than 19 times the growth space in 5 years!

Lithium battery enterprise "pillow Godan"
