[SMM analysis: lithium battery concept stock strengthening Chinese fir stock sealing plate lithium carbonate price is expected to rise slightly in the short term] according to SMM research, most of the domestic lithium salt manufacturers are in full production, and lithium carbonate is in short supply, lithium salt manufacturers are tight, and most of the quotations are higher. However, the rate of increase on the demand side is not as fast as the release rate of production capacity, so the price of lithium carbonate is expected to rise slightly and be stable in the long run.

SMM9 March 15: today, the lithium battery concept stock trend is strong, Shanshan shares, aerospace mechanical and electrical pull up the sealing board, Cixing shares, pilot intelligence, nebula shares rose more than 10%, BYD, Shi Dashenhua rose more than 9%.

According to SMM research, the price of battery-grade lithium carbonate has shown an overall downward trend since the beginning of the year. As of September 15, the average daily price of battery-grade lithium carbonate was 40, 000 yuan / ton, down 10250 yuan / ton from the peak of 50250 yuan / ton since the beginning of the year. SMM believes that the supply and demand structure of lithium carbonate has improved, mainly due to a sharp drop in imports from Argentina and Chile, where the epidemic is still severe. The number of confirmed cases in one day reached an one-day high on Sept. 10, and imports are expected to remain low in August.

According to SMM research, most of the domestic lithium salt manufacturers are in full production, and lithium carbonate is in short supply. Lithium salt manufacturers are tight in shipments, and most of the quotations are higher at present. However, the rate of increase on the demand side is not as fast as the release rate of production capacity, so the price of lithium carbonate is expected to rise slightly and be stable in the long run.

The main products will be energy storage battery packs and power batteries for new energy vehicles. The overall plant plans to include 2 ESS production lines, 3 BEV production lines, and 8 PACK production lines, with a planned total capacity of approximately 52 GWh.

South African businessman leads takeover of one of Africa’s largest nickel-cobalt mining operations

Sandile Zungu, a South African businessman, is leading an investment consortium together with his firm Zungu Investments and former Glencore nickel trading executive Jason Kluk to acquire a 54.17% controlling stake held by Sumitomo Corporation in the Ambatovy nickel-cobalt project in Madagascar.
