According to data from the General Administration of Customs, China's total exports of magnesium products totaled 20, 000 tons in June 2020, down 20 percent from the previous month and 44.4 percent from the same period last year, according to data from the General Administration of Customs. Since March, affected by the overseas epidemic situation, the export volume of magnesium ingots and downstream magnesium products in China has continued to decrease.
Restrictions on magnesium ingot exports were evident in the June data. China exported 11813.47 tons of magnesium ingots in June 2020, down 27 per cent from a month earlier and 42 per cent from a year earlier. The export value of magnesium ingots was US $25.7265 million, with an average price of US $2177.73, down 0.66% from the previous month and 13.2% lower than the same period last year. From January to June, magnesium ingot exports totaled 114400 tons, down 7 per cent from the same period last year.
China's magnesium alloy exports in June were 3977.14 tons, up 30 per cent from a month earlier and down 50 per cent from a year earlier. Magnesium alloy exports totaled US $9.818 million, with an average price of US $2468.61, up 1.3 per cent from the previous month and down 14.6 per cent from the same period last year. The cumulative export volume of magnesium alloys from January to June was 50700 tons, down 8.51% from the same period last year.
China's exports of magnesium powder in June were 2848.16 tons, down 43 per cent from the previous month and 57 per cent from a year earlier. The export value of magnesium powder was US $6.261 million, with an average price of US $2198.26, down 5.4% from the previous month and 14.32% from the same period last year. The cumulative export volume of magnesium powder from January to June was 35300 tons, down 22.79% from the same period last year.
