SMM12, June 6: subsidies for electric vehicles and other renewable energy programs could soon be eliminated, said Larry Cudlow, president Trump's economic adviser. This will be a major victory for energy freedom. Kudlow, chairman of the National Economic Council, a prominent free-market marketer and supplier, said subsidies could be completely eliminated by 2020. The decision came mainly after the GM incident. Previously, in the United States, for those who bought GM plug-in cars, they could benefit from a $2500 to $7, 000 tax credit, and GM announced its decision to close five North American factories, resulting in the loss of 14700 workers. GM's move also angered Trump.

In short, it is the opposite of a free market economy and the essence of a soft socialist economy.

In addition, whether the electric vehicle industry is really completely clean and pollution-free is also a question worth discussing, and the reality is that it is not necessarily cleaner than ordinary cars. A recent Bloomberg article highlighted an important study by Munich-based Berylls Strategy Advisors on the "surprising facts" of electric vehicles. The results show that although electric vehicles have no pollution emissions while driving, they can still emit a lot of carbon dioxide from traditional cars. One of the important reasons is the batteries of electric vehicles, which are at the heart of the industry. Many batteries are built in countries such as China, Thailand, Germany and Poland, which rely heavily on coal for energy. As a result, the production of electric vehicles produces far more carbon dioxide than ordinary gasoline-powered vehicles.

In the United States in 2017, about 62.7 percent of electricity comes from coal, natural gas, oil and other fossil fuels.
