Weiqiao lowers prebaked anode buying price for five months

SHANGHAI, Apr 27 (SMM) – Weiqiao Group has lowered its purchasing prices for prebaked anode for a fifth consecutive month, SMM learned.

The prices for May stand at 3,390 yuan/mt in cash and 3,425 yuan/mt on acceptance, 200 yuan/mt lower than the previous month.

Such levels mean that prebake anode prices for May have fallen below the average costs. Even for lower-cost producers this is considered at around the break-even line as they offered other discounts.
