Miningnews.net reports that Chalice announced its Gonneville project near Perth, Western Australia, features an "anomalous" copper-rare earth target that remains untested by drilling.

The prospect, named Deep Blue, lies 15km southeast of the Caravel copper deposit near Goomalling, Western Australia. The copper-molybdenum-silver soil anomaly extends approximately 2.5km, with rock chip sampling revealing high-grade ore and total rare earth oxide grades reaching up to 15%.

Reverse circulation drilling will commence in the coming weeks, with 10 holes planned.

In 2020, Chalice discovered the Gonneville copper-nickel-PGE deposit, investing $250 million to date. The funds primarily supported expanded tenement holdings, drilling, metallurgical testing, and partial feasibility studies.

A feasibility study for project financing will be completed next year.

The Gonneville project contains precious metal (platinum, palladium, gold) resources of 17Moz, nickel of 1Mt, and copper of 500,000t.
