【SMM Steel】Acero Estrella inaugurates EcoAcero plant with 400,000 t/y rebar capacity

【SMM Steel】Dominican steelmaker Acero Estrella has inaugurated its new EcoAcero plant. President Luis Abinader said the plant will boost competitiveness, economic growth, job creation, and local industry. EcoAcero CEO Pedro Estrella Tavares stated the facility features advanced SMS group technology and has annual rebar capacity of 400,000 tonnes, making it one of the most advanced industrial facilities in the Caribbean. The project will be developed in two phases, with Phase 2 adding EAF steelmaking and continuous casting.
