· On May 17, the border crossing between Goma, the capital of North Kivu Province, and the western Rwandan city of Gisenyi was urgently closed.
Uganda:
· Two imported confirmed cases were reported (including 1 death), both with travel history to the DRC.
· Health measures included: strengthening border controls and adding health checkpoints; implementing strict contact tracing and isolation of close contacts; enhancing infection prevention and control capabilities in domestic medical facilities; and launching community outreach to raise public awareness of prevention.
