[Copper Scrap Ingot Customs Data] According to data from the General Administration of Customs, China's imports of copper scrap ingots (red/bare bright copper ingots) (HS code: 74031900) totaled 45,300 mt in April 2026, up 1% MoM and down 6% YoY. Cumulative imports from January to April 2026 reached 187,400 mt, up 20% YoY.

[China's Copper Pipe & Tube Import and Export Data for April 2026] In April 2026, China's copper pipe & tube imports were 1,647.9 mt, down 0.4% MoM and 10.18% YoY; cumulative YoY decline was 16.05%. In April 2026, China's copper pipe & tube exports were 30,560.09 mt, up 6.6% MoM and 13.29% YoY; cumulative YoY decline was 6.66%.

End-user cargo pick-up speed slowed down, and affected by the buildup of finished product inventories, a large copper semis processing plant in east China planned to shut down all furnaces for maintenance.
