Intraday sheets & plates prices rose narrowly, with weak transactions after the increase

In the short term, futures have already priced in the easing or escalation of the Middle East situation to a certain extent, and the cost increase driven by rising energy prices is difficult to digest in the short term. Sheets & plates prices are expected to fluctuate at highs with limited room for pullback. On other fronts, the recent narrowing of the cold-hot price spread has triggered production switching signals at some steel mills, which will also cap the upside of hot-rolled coil prices.
