Indonesia's Refined Tin Exports Rise MoM but Fall YoY in March 2026, Q1 Exports Decline YoY

According to data from Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, refined tin exports in March 2026 totaled 4,655.03 mt, up 28.08% MoM but down 19.47% YoY. Cumulative refined tin exports in Q1 2026 reached 10,943.33 mt, down 2.93% YoY.

Indonesian state-owned tin producer PT Timah announced that, driven by rising tin prices, the company's 2025 operating profit reached 1.91 trillion Indonesian rupiah (approximately 798 million yuan), up 0.8% YoY. PT Timah's 2025 total revenue was 11.55 trillion Indonesian rupiah (approximately 4.843 billion yuan), up 6.41% YoY. The company stated that domestic clients accounted for 5% of its sales, with the remaining 95% being export sales. PT Timah announced that its refined tin production fell 5.8% YoY to 17,815 mt, mainly due to persistent rampant illegal mining activities both offshore and onshore. By region, onshore production was 7,098 mt (down 8.1% YoY), offshore production was 11,537 mt (down 1.5% YoY), and the overall structure remained largely stable.

NVIDIA Exec to Meet Samsung, SK Hynix for Physical AI Collaboration
According to industry sources, a key executive from NVIDIA (NVDA.O) was scheduled to hold separate meetings on Wednesday with counterpart executives from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to discuss collaboration in physical AI. Madison Huang, Senior Director of Product and Technology Marketing for NVIDIA's physical AI platform, was visiting South Korea to expand partnerships in the field. The team she leads is responsible for Omniverse, NVIDIA's development platform for physical and industrial AI simulation applications, as well as the company's robotics platform that supports its industrial digitalization and physical AI strategy. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are major suppliers of memory chips used in NVIDIA's AI chips. NVIDIA also collaborates with these South Korean chipmakers to deploy large-scale GPU clusters to strengthen South Korea's national-level AI infrastructure and promote AI applications in robotics, factories, and industrial platforms.
