Outokumpu said that while the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism helps level the playing field, it is still not sufficient on its own to address import pressure and protect regional steel production. The company also emphasized the low carbon footprint of European stainless steel, arguing that trade measures and carbon policy need to work together to support industrial competitiveness.
