[China Exported 14.6 Million mt of Steel Sheets & Plates in Q1]

Bao Gang United Steel released its 2025 annual report, reporting revenue of 66.358 billion yuan, down 2.54% YoY, and net profit attributable to shareholders of the publicly listed firm of 374 million yuan, up 41.19% YoY. During the reporting period, the company produced 14.9575 million mt of pig iron, 15.7313 million mt of steel, and 14.7225 million mt of commercial billets and finished products, as well as 801,100 mt of fluorite concentrates.

According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, in March 2026, China exported 380,000 mt of coal and lignite, down 18.7% YoY; cumulative exports from January to March totaled 1.38 million mt, down 2.1% YoY. In March, China exported 520,000 mt of coke and semi-coke, down 31.8% YoY; cumulative exports from January to March totaled 1.95 million mt, up 10.3% YoY. In March, China imported 39.06 million mt of coal and lignite, up 0.8% YoY; cumulative imports from January to March totaled 116.28 million mt, up 1.3% YoY.

Today DCE iron ore futures exhibited a firm trend, with the most active I2609 contract ultimately settling at 778.5 RMB per tonne, representing an increase of 0.39 per cent from the previous trading session.
