Qingming Festival Holiday Factor, Lead-Acid Battery Enterprises Cut Production During Holiday [SMM Lead-Acid Battery Weekly Operating Rate Comment]

According to SMM research, from April 3 to April 9, 2026, the weekly comprehensive operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises across five provinces surveyed by SMM was 67.29%, down 6.16 percentage points WoW.

This week coincided with the Qingming Festival holiday. Apart from a few enterprises that maintained normal production, most lead-acid battery enterprises took 1 to 3 days off accordingly, with e-bike lead-acid battery enterprises taking more days off than automotive lead-acid battery enterprises, thus dragging down the weekly operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises. Next week, with the holiday factor removed, enterprises will resume normal production. However, as the traditional off-season for the lead-acid battery market arrives, some lead-acid battery enterprises plan to cut production, and subsequent production may struggle to recover to March production levels.
