[SMM Stainless Steel Flash] Stainless Steel Demand Becomes Decisive Amid Price Hikes

Published: Mar 25, 2026 11:12
Driven by rising raw material costs and tight supply chains, stainless steel prices trended upward in March 2026. In Taiwan, China, some of the mills raised prices, with the 316-series up by NT$4,000/ton and the 304-series by NT$2,000/ton. Similarly, Japanese mills increased 300-series prices by 15,000–20,000 JPY due to higher energy and nickel costs, while South Korean prices climbed by 150,000–200,000 KRW. With Indonesian supply risks ongoing, actual market demand will be the deciding factor for April's price trajectory.
