【SMM Stainless Steel Market】Jiangsu Yongjin Metal Technology Co., Ltd. filed a new patent (CN120818658A) on October 21 for a method to produce high-hardness, high-nickel stainless steel. The invention addresses insufficient hardness in high-nickel steel for high-wear and high-stress applications. The process reportedly uses 304 stainless steel and electrolytic nickel plates as raw materials, followed by hot rolling and solution treatment, then applies advanced surface treatments, including laser cladding a high-hardness alloy layer and laser shock strengthening, to create a material capable of withstanding severe wear.
