Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Sept. 19, Geespace, Geely's commercial aerospace subsidiary, announced the launch of its global headquarters project in Hangzhou and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Jinkong Investment Management, Hangzhou Capital, and Hangzhou High-Tech Venture Capital.

Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate on investment and industrial development to build a leading hub for satellite communications. Geespace has secured 2 billion yuan from the Zhejiang New Energy Vehicle Industry Fund, earmarked for headquarters construction and global business expansion of the Geely Future Mobility Constellation.

Geespace has nearly completed the first phase of the constellation's deployment. With the addition of trial satellites, 64 satellites will be in orbit, providing real-time communications coverage for any point on Earth except the poles. Within latitudes 60° north and south, the constellation will achieve dual-layer coverage, offering up to 340 million communications per day for around 20 million users. Upon full deployment of the planned 72 satellites, coverage will expand to three to four overlapping layers, enhancing capacity and service reliability.

The constellation supports multiple communication formats, including text, voice, and images, with single-channel capacity of 1,900 bytes. Geespace has built full-stack R&D capabilities across space, ground, and application segments, ranging from constellation system design and satellite mass production to communication chips and terminal modules. Its services are already expanding in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Latin America, with partnerships in over 20 countries.
