Chinese chip company Flagchip has closed a funding round worth hundreds of millions of yuan.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese chip company Flagchip has closed a funding round worth hundreds of millions of yuan, according to a press release the company released on August 1 via its WeChat account.

The new round attracted strong backing from high-profile investors. Participants include Xiaomi's investment arm Beijing Xiaomi Zhizao Equity Investment Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership), Hainan Jimu Venture Capital, and the Beijing Advanced Manufacturing and Intelligent Equipment Industry Investment Fund.

The company said the fresh capital will reinforce its leadership in high-performance, high-functional-safety automotive controller chips, while enabling closer collaboration across the supply chain. The move marks a new chapter in its commercial development as Flagchip transitions from technology accumulation to large-scale market deployment.

Flagchip will also relocate its operations to Beijing's Shunyi District, leveraging strong support from industrial partners, investors, and local authorities. The company aims to scale its technological and product advantages to better serve downstream customers, foster high-quality growth in China's automotive sector, and create a sustainable cycle that integrates technology, industry, and capital.

Founded nearly five years ago, Flagchip has established itself as a key player in the development of next-generation core controllers for vehicle E/E architectures in China. Its business now spans major Tier 1 suppliers and mainstream automakers. The company's ARM Cortex-M4-based FC4150 automotive-grade MCU series has surpassed 10 million units in shipments, while its new FC7300 series—built on an ARM Cortex-M7 multi-core architecture and certified to ASIL-D standards—entered mass installation onto cars in January 2025 and has already secured orders exceeding one million units.
