Recently, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, the High-Level Clearance Authority of Odisha, India, approved investment proposals totaling INR 1,653.03 billion, which will significantly boost the industrial development of Odisha.
The approved investment projects cover key areas such as steel, aluminum, power generation, green hydrogen, engineering products, and green energy equipment. It is expected to create over 51,939 jobs, bringing significant employment growth to multiple regions.
The investment by the Vedanta Group has also garnered considerable attention. The group has committed to investing INR 915.28 billion (approximately CNY 77.72 billion) in the Rayagada region for two major projects, including the construction of an alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 6 million mt (investment of INR 505.37 billion), and the construction of an aluminum smelter with an annual capacity of 1.2 million mt (investment of INR 409.91 billion).
