Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 27, YANGWANG, BYD's premium vehicle brand, officially put its flagship electric sedan, the YANGWANG U7, onto the market. The model is available in four variants, with prices ranging from 628,000 yuan to 708,000 yuan.

Powered by BYD's e⁴ technology, the YANGWANG U7 boasts over 1,300 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. It also features innovative capabilities such as in-place turning on all terrains, stable driving after high-speed tire blowouts, and parallel lateral parking maneuvers.

YANGWANG said the U7 is the world's first model to feature the DiSus-Z active suspension system, which utilizes a pioneering direct-drive motor technology to convert electrical energy into precise vertical motion control. The suspension system delivers a peak power of 50 kW, while its Magic Ruler sensor boasts a 50-microsecond response time, capable of capturing 4,000 body position changes per second. With an industry-leading 5-millisecond execution speed, the system achieves unparalleled stability and precision, adjusting the vehicle's height to an accuracy of just 1 millimeter.

Thanks to e⁴ platform's four-wheel independent torque vectoring, the U7 can individually control each wheel within milliseconds, enabling pivot turns and fixed-point rotations. It also introduces the world's first "parallel lateral movement" feature, allowing the car to move sideways with ease. The 20-degree bi-directional intelligent rear-wheel steering, combined with agile steering technology, grants this D-segment luxury sedan maneuverability comparable to a compact A0-segment car.

Visually, the YANGWANG U7 adopts YANGWANG's signature "Time Gate" design language, resembling its sibling, the U9. The closed-off grille, coupled with C-shaped sharp LED headlights, gives the front end an aggressive and dynamic stance. A sculpted hood, along with an aerodynamic front bumper and diffuser, enhances airflow and downforce. Equipped with roof-mounted LiDAR, the U7 supports advanced intelligent driving assistance features. With a drag coefficient as low as 0.195Cd, it achieves both sportiness and elegance.

From the side, the fastback profile is accentuated by sharp, sculpted lines, flush door handles, and a blackened side skirt, optimizing aerodynamics. Front fender vents and low-drag wheels further improve airflow, boosting both range and stability. The model is available in four colors.

The BEV (battery electric vehicle) variant measures 5,265 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,517 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm, while the PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) version is slightly larger at 5,360 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, featuring a 3,200 mm wheelbase.

At the rear, the YANGWANG U7 features a multi-layered design, with a full-width LED matrix taillight embedding the YANGWANG logo for high recognition. The aggressive rear bumper, coupled with an active electric rear wing and diffuser, optimizes aerodynamic performance and visual impact. A narrow-to-wide license plate recess, accented with chrome trim, strikes a balance between sportiness and luxury.

Inside, the U7's "Star Ring Cockpit" concept embodies Chinese architectural symmetry, featuring a wraparound T-shaped layout and a 12.8-inch OLED curved display running the latest DiLink 150 smart infotainment system. The 23-speaker Dynaudio Platinum Hi-End system includes a centrally mounted, rotating tweeter, inspired by a sundial, which rises when the vehicle starts—symbolizing the rise of the sun and the turning of time. The interior is offered in two elegant themes—Cloud Brocade Red, inspired by the rich hues of Nanjing's luxurious cloud brocade, and Pearl Satin White, evoking the luster of jade and silk, accented with imperial purple motifs representing prosperity and fortune.

The U7's BEV version is equipped with a 135.5 kWh high-performance Blade Battery pack, which delivers a CLTC-rated range of 720 km. The PHEV variant features a 52.4 kWh battery with a combined range of 1,000 km. Notably, the PHEV version debuts China's first mass-produced horizontally opposed (boxer) engine, compressed to a height of just 420 mm. This breakthrough maximizes under-hood space utilization while keeping the noise difference between hybrid and pure-electric driving within just 1 decibel.

On the intelligent driving front, the U7 integrates the triple-LiDAR God's Eye A system, which features 32 intelligent driving sensors and dual NVIDIA Orin-X chips with a 508 TOPS computing power. It offers L2+ advanced driving assistance, with urban navigation capabilities enabled upon delivery, ensuring an evolving and adaptable driving experience nationwide.
