[SMM Daily Review: February 19 Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Slightly Increased]
The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price was 76,256 yuan/mt, up 118 yuan/mt from the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate was priced at 75,500-77,000 yuan/mt, with an average price of 76,250 yuan/mt, up 100 yuan/mt from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate was priced at 73,150-74,150 yuan/mt, with an average price of 73,650 yuan/mt, up 200 yuan/mt from the previous working day. The price center of spot lithium carbonate slightly moved upward.
From the current market transaction situation, some downstream material plants mainly restocked on a just-needed basis, with overall purchase willingness remaining weak and a cautious wait-and-see attitude prevailing. Considering the expected increase in domestic lithium carbonate production and overseas import volumes, it is anticipated that the domestic lithium carbonate market will remain in surplus in February. Spot lithium carbonate prices are expected to show a downward trend, accompanied by sideways movement.
