On February 12, Argentina time, Ganfeng's Mariana Salt Lake Project was officially commissioned. The Governor of Salta Province, Gustavo Sáenz; the Vice Governor of Jujuy Province, Alberto Bernis; the Secretary of State for Mining, Luis Lucero, and other Argentine leaders, along with Ganfeng Lithium President Xiaoshen Wang, South America Regional Head Xiaofeng Luo, and other Ganfeng executives, as well as representatives from local enterprises, industry associations, communities, and unions, attended the commissioning ceremony. The Chinese Ambassador to Argentina, Wei Wang, participated via video.
The Mariana Project is located in Salta Province, Argentina, with total lithium resources equivalent to 8.12 million mt LCE and a Phase I annual capacity of 20,000 mt of lithium chloride.
As Ganfeng's first project in Salta Province, Mariana was efficiently completed in just 2 years and 9 months with the support of the Salta Provincial Government, the Argentine Secretary of State for Mining, the Chinese Embassy in Argentina, surrounding communities, supplier teams, and industry associations. "The commissioning of the Mariana Project is yet another vivid example of the friendly cooperation and mutual benefit between China and Argentina," said Wei Wang, the Chinese Ambassador to Argentina.
In the future, with the orderly development of projects such as PPG, PG, and Incahuasi-Arizaro, Salta Province will become an important resource base for Ganfeng, with the synergistic effects of multiple projects becoming increasingly prominent. The mature resource layout will attract more talent, enterprises, and capital to the region, accelerating the aggregation of the industry chain and economic development.
