[No Concerns Over Large Reverse Repo Maturities; February Liquidity Expected to Remain Stable]
After the Chinese New Year holiday, the open market will see over 2 trillion yuan in reverse repo maturities. Regarding February's liquidity, industry insiders believe that while seasonal factors may bring marginal easing, considering the regulatory authorities' preference for stability, liquidity is likely to remain in a tight balance, with limited room for a significant decline in funding costs.
Wang Menghan, a fixed-income analyst at Zheshang Securities, stated that overall, bullish factors in February have increased compared to January, which may slightly ease the liquidity friction environment, providing some room for a slight moderation in funding rates and segmentation. However, overall, the current liquidity gap remains significant and is under central bank regulation, meaning funding costs and segmentation, even if they pull back, are likely to remain at elevated levels.
