Xinjiang Releases Plan to Accelerate Green Manufacturing Development

On December 19, the Xinjiang Department of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Green Development of Manufacturing in the Autonomous Region." The plan proposes promoting short-process technologies in industries such as non-ferrous metals. Regions with suitable conditions are encouraged to strengthen resource coupling and recycling, and accelerate the construction of "zero-waste enterprises," "zero-waste industrial parks," and "zero-waste cities." By 2030, the proportion of renewable energy used in aluminum production is expected to exceed 30%.

Strictly enforce mandatory standards for energy consumption and emissions, accelerate the promotion of energy-efficient and energy-saving equipment, and expedite the application of green equipment in industries such as non-ferrous metals. Energy-saving and carbon-reduction upgrades will be implemented by industry and sector. The "Achieve A, Advance to B" initiative will continue, aiming to comprehensively improve the environmental protection performance levels of key industries such as aluminum.
