Aluminum Rod Production Declines Slightly in November 2024, But Operating Rates Improve

December 13, 2024 - According to the latest monthly survey by SMM, the national capacity for aluminum rods is currently 7.54 million mt. In November 2024, the total production of aluminum rods across the country was 383,200 mt, a decrease of 3,400 mt from October, down 0.87% MoM. After adjusting for the number of days in the month, the operating rate of aluminum rod plants was recorded at 61.84%, an increase of 1.47% MoM. Entering November, a warming of operating rates downstream led to improved demand, with some consumer areas showing better buying sentiment. The operating rate of domestic aluminum rod manufacturers slightly rebounded, and there were signs of improvement in the supply-demand pattern for aluminum rods.
