Stellantis and CATL are collaborating to invest in the construction of a large LFP battery plant in Spain, with funding reaching 4.1 billion euros. The new plant will be located within Stellantis' existing facilities in Zaragoza and is expected to start production by the end of 2026, with an estimated annual capacity of 50 GWh.
This initiative is part of Stellantis' "Dare Forward 2030" strategy, aimed at launching more affordable pure EVs and fully leveraging the company's dual-chemistry strategy. Meanwhile, the establishment of the plant will help CATL more effectively meet customer demand for advanced battery technologies and support the achievement of global climate goals.
