According to data from Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's aluminum imports in October reached the highest level of the year as buyers began to replenish inventory after months of waiting. The primary aluminum imports for the month were 103,989 mt, up 41.8% from the previous month and up 20% YoY. Notably, India became Japan's largest aluminum supplier. Additionally, the total aluminum imports from January to October were 870,942 mt, slightly down 0.6% YoY.
The Japan Aluminum Association indicated that the domestic production of aluminum products in October was 149,884 mt, down 1.1% YoY. Meanwhile, the sales volume of aluminum products was 151,077 mt, up 1.1% YoY, marking the first increase in three months. Furthermore, the import volume of secondary aluminum alloy ingots (ADC12) in October reached 110,680 mt, up 37.2% YoY.
