SMM Weekly Review: Silicon Material Prices See Limited Upside; Module Production Schedules Forecasted to Drop

Publicado: Nov 15, 2024 13:05
[SMM Weekly Review: Limited Expectations for Silicon Material Prices; Anticipated Decline in Module Production Schedules] This week, the mainstream transaction price for P-type dense silicon materials ranged from 34 to 36 yuan/kg, while N-type silicon materials transacted at 38 to 42 yuan/kg. Polysilicon market prices experienced a narrow decline this week, with some second- and third-tier manufacturers offering a small number of silicon material orders, leading to weaker prices. However, leading manufacturers continue to hold firm at quotes of 40-42 yuan/kg. Despite significant production cuts by silicon material enterprises in November, the decline was still outpaced by the reduction in silicon wafer output, casting a pessimistic outlook on polysilicon prices in the future market.

Bangladesh's Power Division announced a tariff of BDT 10.50 ($0.086)/kWh for surplus electricity from eligible rooftop solar systems under the country's net-metering regime, valid for three years through February 28, 2030. The maximum generation cost for rooftop solar systems with battery storage has been set at BDT 8/kWh, with the government adding a 20% profit margin and an 11.25% premium. Systems installed by February 28, 2027, qualifying under the Net Metering Guidelines 2025 are eligible for the incentive tariff. The government aims to install at least 5 GW of solar capacity through net metering by next summer to help address daily power shortages exceeding 3 GW during peak summer demand.
