Iron Ore Import Profits Rise Slightly, But Future Outlook Shows Declining Trends

Publicado: Nov 14, 2024 09:22
According to the SMM import ore cost-profit statement, import ore profits have risen slightly. SMM's research indicates that on November 13, the blast furnace operating rate of the 242 steel plants surveyed by SMM was 90.74%, up 0.14% from the previous week. The average daily molten iron output of the sampled steel plants was 2.4535 million tonnes, an increase of 7,000 tonnes from the previous week. During this cycle, there was a notable resumption of production at five blast furnaces, coupled with the commissioning of one newly built blast furnace. Looking ahead to next week, some blast furnaces in northwestern steel plants still have winter shutdown plans. Coupled with the recent contraction in steel plant profits and the current pressure of environmental production restrictions, blast furnace maintenance may accelerate, and molten iron production is expected to decline again. The future supply and demand dynamics for iron ore will be weak on both sides. It is expected that ore prices will fluctuate within a narrow range, and import ore profits may decline slightly.
