Production of Cold-rolled Steel Up, Hot-rolled Steel Down in October】Important Notice: From September 2024, SMM will officially launch the cold-rolled steel production schedule data of 31 long-process steel plants, accounting for 100% of the sample proportion of long-process cold-rolled steel plants.

According to the latest tracking by SMM, the planned output of cold-rolled commodity steel for September by 31 mainstream cold-rolled coil steel plants totaled 4.0105 million tonnes, a decrease of 283,500 tonnes or 6.6% from the actual output in August.

Due to poor production efficiency, steel plant shutdowns occurred in East China this month, with notable production cuts. Steel plants in other regions maintained relatively stable production. In terms of order intake, the order backlog for cold-rolled steel at steel plants in September showed a slight improvement from the previous month.
