The Directorate General of Imports (DGI) of Turkey announced that a tariff of USD 25 per square meter would be imposed on photovoltaic (PV) modules imported from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Croatia, and Jordan, effective from September 27. Additionally, exemptions from this tariff would be granted to JinkoSolar's Malaysian subsidiary, JA Solar's Vietnamese subsidiary, Trina Solar's Thai subsidiary, and Vina Solar, a Vietnamese module manufacturer acquired by LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Shortly after, the Turkish Ministry of Trade, upon the requests of domestic enterprises, announced the initiation of an anti-circumvention investigation into the anti-dumping case of PV modules originating from China. This investigation aimed to examine whether Chinese PV products were being exported through the aforementioned five countries to evade the countervailing duty of USD 20 per square meter. After several months of review, the Turkish government decided in March this year to impose a new tariff of USD 25 per square meter on PV products imported from these countries, marking a 25% increase from the previous tariff.
