According to SMM's import ore cost-profit statement, the profits of imported ore remained basically flat. Last week, SMM's total global iron ore shipments reached 34.33 million tons, up 15.5% from the previous week. Among them, shipments from Australia increased significantly by 20.9% from the previous week; shipments from Australia to China accounted for 87.3% of the total shipments from Australia, a substantial increase of 33.9% from the previous week. Shipments from Brazil decreased by 2.4% from the previous week; shipments from Brazil to China accounted for 38.2% of the total shipments from Brazil, an increase of 18.5% from the previous week. Non-mainstream shipments increased significantly, but due to the influence of ore prices, the proportion of non-mainstream shipments to China dropped significantly. In addition, SMM's survey revealed that the recent cool weather has led to an increase in demand from some construction sites, boosting market confidence. It is necessary to continue observing the apparent demand data in the later stage. Considering that steel mill profits have not improved significantly recently, steel mill blast furnace production may not recover as expected, and iron ore prices will be under pressure and fluctuate, with import ore profits likely to continue fluctuating.
