The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price stood at 72,455 yuan/ton, marking a decrease of 897 yuan/ton from the previous working day. For battery-grade lithium carbonate, prices ranged from 70,800 to 74,400 yuan/ton, with an average price of 72,600 yuan/ton, a drop of 900 yuan/ton compared to the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate prices ranged from 67,600 to 69,200 yuan/ton, averaging 68,400 yuan/ton, also declining by 900 yuan/ton from the previous working day. The transaction prices in the spot market for lithium carbonate continued to shift downwards. Influenced by the significant decline in futures prices, some lithium salt factories and spot traders have adjusted their quotes downwards. In terms of downstream procurement, with increased demand in September, some downstream material factories and battery cell factories have made small purchases based on rigid demand at lower price points, and their psychological expectations for prices have continued to decline. Although production schedules for the downstream sector in September have been showing a positive trend, considering the cumulative domestic inventory levels of lithium carbonate, prices are expected to remain weak.
