Jiangsu Targets 13GWh Installed Capacity for Pumped Storage and New Energy Storage by 2030

【Jiangsu: The installed capacity of pumped storage and new energy storage in the province will reach about 13GWh by 2030】On July 16th, the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued a notification on publicly soliciting opinions on the "Draft of the Notice on High-Quality Implementation of Distributed Photovoltaic Grid Connection and Consumption in the Province." The announcement shows that the province will vigorously promote energy storage construction. It will actively carry out the planning and layout of pumped storage power stations, accelerate the construction of the Lianyungang pumped storage power station project, make full use of the advantages of fast electrochemical energy storage response and flexible configuration, focus on developing grid-side energy storage, accelerate the construction of salt cavern compressed air energy storage projects such as Huaneng Jintan and Guoxin Huai'an, research and explore the pilot application of long-duration energy storage technology, and improve the efficiency of energy storage operation. By 2025, the installed capacity of pumped storage and new energy storage in the province will reach about 9 million kilowatts, and by 2030, it will reach about 13 million kilowatts.
