Samsung Slows Down Its Development of Automotive Semiconductors and Focuses on AI Chips"
Samsung's System LSI department, responsible for chip design, is currently undergoing a business and organizational restructuring that prioritizes AI chips. The personnel previously engaged in the development of the automotive processor "Exynos Auto" (codename KITT3) have been reallocated to the AI system-on-a-chip (SoC) team within the department, which is now the focus of Samsung's design efforts. Currently, the department has concentrated 100-150 dedicated designers to focus on AI chip design.
