Lepidolite:
This week, the price of lithium mica has declined. From the perspective of market supply and demand, the current lithium mica concentrate market is showing a clear situation of oversupply. On one hand, post-holiday market has a certain degree of pessimistic expectations for the future price trend of lithium carbonate. Since April, downstream non-integrated smelters in the Jiangxi region have overall low operating rates, resulting in mica purchase recovery not meeting previous market expectations. In early May, a new round of environmental inspections also caused uncertainty in the demand for mica smelting in the Jiangxi region. The combination of multiple factors has led to some mining companies and traders loosening their price support mentality, with both offer prices and transaction prices trending downwards.
Spodumene:
On Monday, the price of spodumene decreased slightly. Due to the weakening of lithium carbonate prices on the first day of this week, most buyers have lowered their purchasing intentions for spodumene accordingly. However, the actual amount of ore available for purchase in the spot market remains limited due to a large amount of spodumene imported from overseas being processed into lithium carbonate and absorbed by the market. In addition, according to market reports, some spot prices for spodumene in Sichuan remain high due to the shortage of spot goods, limiting the downward trend in ore prices. Top lithium salt factories have high coverage of long-term contracts and sufficient inventory, so shortages have not occurred. It is expected that in the short term, lithium ore prices will remain stable and volatile.
