【SMM Coke Market Weekly Report】Before the May Day holiday, coke finished the fourth round of price increase. After the holiday, coke enterprises continued to initiate the fifth round of price increase. However, as the downstream steel mills' iron water growth rate slowed down and the profits of steel mills continued to shrink, steel mills' resistance to the fifth round of price increase gradually strengthened, and coke prices entered a stage of steel-coke game today. On the supply side, the four rounds of coke price increase have been implemented, and the profits of coke enterprises have improved significantly, and the operation rate of coke enterprises has also increased significantly. On the demand side, although the iron water growth rate of steel mills has slowed down, steel mills still have the demand for replenishment, so the support for the demand side of coke remains. In the follow-up, it is difficult for the profits of coke enterprises to improve further. It is expected that the operation rate of coke enterprises will remain stable in the follow-up, and the increase in coke supply will be limited. On the demand side, it is expected that the iron water growth rate of steel mills will decline next week, and the demand for coke may fall slightly. Therefore, with stable supply and a slight decline in demand, steel and coke will continue to compete. It is expected that coke prices will remain stable next week.
