NETA S Shooting Brake included in catalogue by China’s MIIT

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The NETA S Shooting Brake model under NETA Auto was unveiled in the 382nd batch of "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products" recently released by China' s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

The new model retains the overall appearance of the NETA S sport-coupe edition but with adjustments to the body shape to enhance its shooting-brake characteristics. The rear of the vehicle still features the "NETA S" emblem.

Meanwhile, power and recharging capabilities have been further enhanced. The new model will be equipped with LiDAR as an optional device, indicating a comprehensive advancement in high-level intelligent driving.

According to the information declared to the MIIT, the NETA S Shooting Brake measures 4,980mm in length, 1,980mm in width and 1,480mm in height. The new model is 30mm taller than the NETA S, while the wheelbase length remaining unchanged at 2,980mm, placing it in the category of mid-to-large sized vehicle.

Viewing from its front, the shooting-brake model retains the overall design of the existing NETA S, but with a flatter and longer roof extending into a roof-mounted spoiler. This shifts the vehicle's center of gravity towards the rear, enhancing the overall visual appeal and adding personalized elements. At the same time, it provides more headroom for rear passengers and further improves the functionality of the rear storage area.

Meanwhile, the new model adopts a hatchback design, which not only provides a broader field of vision, but also improves the convenience of accessing and storing items. 

The roof rack significantly expands outdoor loading scenarios, accommodating outdoor equipment such as camping tents, surfboards, and bicycles. In addition to the standard 19-inch tires, the 20-inch tires with colored calipers has been introduced as an option, delivering a more upscale and adventurous visual impact.

In terms of power, the NETA S Shooting Brake is the first model to ride on the Shanhai Platform 2.0, offering both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) versions, with options for two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive layout.

The BEV version is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 200 kw or 370 kw. 

The REEV version features a power system consisting of a 1.5-liter range extender and an electric motor that is good for up to 200 kw. 

Both powertrain solutions come with a choice between lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium batteries, providing abundant power to meet outdoor demands.

The new model is expected to adopt the L series of CATL's ultra-long-life Shenxing battery, the world's first 4C superfast charging LFP battery.
