Breakthrough in Solid-State Battery Development: Sulfide Electrolyte
On April 10th, according to the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the advanced energy storage materials research group at the institute has made new progress in sulfide electrolyte research, solving the problem of sulfide all-solid-state battery layering process. A pilot line for the batch production of kilogram-level sulfide electrolyte has been established, capable of achieving stable production at the kilogram level; a small-scale production line for all-solid-state batteries has been set up, and the high-voltage, long-life soft-packed all-solid-state lithium-ion battery developed can cycle 1000 times at a rate of 0.5C at room temperature, maintaining 92% of its capacity, while the battery is still undergoing testing (Toyota's set standard is 1500 cycles with 80% capacity retention), with discharge capability at 4C rate.
