The Russian government has extended the export quota for scrap steel and scrap ferrous metals until the end of June next year. According to the report of the Russian Satellite News Agency on the 24th, the Russian government announced that within the framework of the export policy of essential metals for regulating industrial production, it has decided to extend the quota for the export of scrap steel and scrap ferrous metals to regions outside the Eurasian Economic Union. The quota system will continue until June 30, 2024, with a quota of 600,000 tons. Against the backdrop of rising prices for non-ferrous and ferrous metals in the international market, the Russian government has imposed temporary export duties on ferrous and non-ferrous metals from 2021 to 2023.
