SGMW puts Wuling BinguoEV model onto Indonesian market

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 15, SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") held an event in Jakarta to celebrate the market launch of the BinguoEV, an all-electric city car model under the Wuling brand, in the Indonesian market.

Notably, Wuling has become the first carmaker to produce two new energy vehicle (NEV) models (the Air ev and the BinguoEV) in Indonesia.

Just a month after initiating blind pre-orders on November 16, the BinguoEV surpassed the 3000-unit mark in cumulative order volume, breaking the previous record set by the Air ev with 2000 pre-orders in the Indonesian NEV market. The official selling price of the BinguoEV in the country ranges from 358 million to 408 million Indonesian Rupiah (approximately 160,000 to 190,000 yuan).

In the Chinese market, the BinguoEV offers eight trim levels, with prices ranging from 59,800 to 88,800 Yuan. The lineup includes models with three different driving ranges: 203 km, 333 km, and 410 km. Production of the 333 km Joy Edition ("Joy" for "Yue Xiang" in Chinese Pinyin) and Lingxi Interconnected Edition have been discontinued, replaced by the "Joy Plus" and "Lingxi Interconnected Plus" versions, featuring enhanced safety features such as the EBA (electronic brake assist) and ESP (electronic stability program) system.

With a design philosophy rooted in retro-inspired aesthetics, the BinguoEV boasts highly recognizable LED headlights, gently contoured outlines, and an overall appearance reminiscent of expressive eyes. The diamond-shaped water-ripple grille complements the Wuling brand logo, revealing electric vibe in the details.

Inside, the vehicle's central control integrates a large screen with the air conditioning panel, presenting an elliptical shape. The meticulously crafted dual-screen design features two 10.25-inch high-definition screens, facilitating both the operation without using the sense of sight and the touch control. The interior is characterized by rich lighting and clear, user-friendly functional distribution.

In a bid to further propel the development of NEV industry in Indonesia, Wuling Indonesia has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with PLN (an Indonesian state-owned company tasked with supplying the electricity needs of the Indonesian people), Telkomsel (Indonesia's largest state-owned telecommunications operator), and Mandiri (Indonesia's largest state-owned bank). This collaboration aims to deepen cooperation in areas such as charging infrastructure development, vehicle connectivity, and financial credit, fostering the continued growth and enhancement of the electric vehicle ecosystem.
