South Korea's largest lead-zinc smelting company, Korea Zinc, announced on December 7th that it will accelerate the cultivation of new growth engines such as renewable energy, green hydrogen, and battery materials, in order to increase its revenue to 25.3 trillion Korean won (approximately 19 billion US dollars) within 10 years.
At an investor day event held in Seoul, the company's President and Co-CEO, Park Kee-deok, announced that Korea Zinc plans to increase the sales of new growth businesses such as renewable energy, green hydrogen, resource recycling, and battery materials to 12.2 trillion Korean won by 2023, which is close to the sales of its main smelting business, estimated at around 13 trillion won.
