Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 29, 2023, BYD officially put the SEAL battery electric vehicle (BEV) model onto the Mexican market, marking the introduction of the company's second Ocean-aesthetics-inspired model in the local market following the DOLPHIN's debut in September.
Expanding its presence in Mexico, BYD has introduced two versions of the SEAL. The rear-wheel-drive version is priced at 778,800 pesos (approximately 321,000 yuan), while the four-wheel-drive variant is available for 888,800 pesos (approximately 366,000 yuan).
During the launch event, Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD Company Limited and President of BYD Americas, said: "In November of this year, BYD achieved a groundbreaking milestone in production and sales, securing its place as the world's first automobile company to reach the production of 6 million new energy vehicles. Impressively, BYD accomplished the transition from the '5 millionth' to the '6 millionth' new energy vehicle in just three months. Drawing inspiration from the Ocean X concept car, the BYD SEAL is a dynamic and powerful pure electric sedan. In addition, BYD SEAL is also the world's first production model equipped with CTB (cell-to-body) Technology, which achieves new breakthroughs in safety, handling, and efficiency. BYD SEAL has received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, which reflects BYD's relentless pursuit of high automotive quality and safety."
Since BYD's official foray into the Mexican passenger car market in March of this year, the company has progressively introduced there a variety of new energy vehicle models, including the Dynasty series with the BYD HAN, TANG, YUAN, and the Ocean series’ BYD DOLPHIN and now, the SEAL.
