Customs data showed that China exported 218,100 mt of aluminum plate/sheet and strip in September, down 3% MoM and 14% YoY.
The top five exporting provinces in September were Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Zhejiang. The above five places exported a total of 153,600 mt of aluminum plate/sheet and strips in September, accounting for about 70% of the total exports.
The major export destinations were Mexico, South Korea, Vietnam, Canada, Australia, and Thailand, each receiving more than 10,000 mt of aluminum plate/sheet and strips from China.
SMM research learned that in October, the export volume of many aluminum plate and strip companies still showed no signs of recovery, and some companies reported that as off-season loomed in mid-to-late October, their export orders have shown signs of weakening month-on-month. SMM believes that the persistent global economic downturn and the tariffs imposed by some countries on Chinese products may continue to suppress the recovery of China's aluminum plate/sheet and strip export market. The monthly export volume of aluminum plates/sheet and strips may remain around 200,000-250,000 mt in the next few months.
